The pass few months I can't help but feel really blessed. Recently I've had the chance to shoot with Mr. Ruel Tafalla, one of the photographers who have greatly inspired me in this craft. Before I used to just follow his work in flickr and multiply, never in my wildest dream did I imagine I'd be able to meet him in person since he is based in the US. So I was greatly surprised when he offered photography and post processing lessons a few months back. Being an avid follower of his work I quickly grabbed the chance and signed up. And let me just say that the openness with which he shared his techniques was just amazing, he was truly generous with his knowledge.
So when he started organizing shoots, I gladly joined in too. The shoots turned out to be a great opportunity to rub elbows and get to know people with passion for photography, may they be amateur photographers or pros. And while it was not necessarily a "class" the techniques and tips of those who have had several years of experience in the field were openly shared with us who are just starting out. Amazingly too it was not only technique that was traded around during those shoots, people were also open to sharing their gear. There was really a spirit of camaraderie present and an overall feeling of everyone wanting everybody to improve in their craft.
Another great opportunity during those shoots was the chance to work with professional and seasoned models, something I never would have thought I'd get the chance to do. Let me just say that I now have a new respect for their profession. They were down to earth and were consummate professionals, no complaints whatsoever about the shooting conditions. I think I've heard myself and my fellow photographers complain more about the heat than they have during shoots.
But bottom line is, those shoots have been fun, crazily tiring, insane to the brim but all together fun. Of course it helps that there are photographers there the age of my father who go about simulating poses of FHM models while we test the lighting set-ups ... they're just absolutely hilarious.
ANDY TIMMONS IS COMING TO TOWN!
Ok, so I was never crazy about foreign acts visiting the Philippines, but when I heard that Andy Timmons, THE ANDY TIMMONS will be here I was ecstatic. I was never really much of a guitar player nor a big big rock music buff but I've always loved his music.
To see him play live would be a life changing experience! .... yes, I'm full of cheese ... do forgive, I'm just insanely happy about this.
COSPLAY PHOTOS
I feel like I'm doing a big disservice to those who watched this account due to cosplay. I've recently swiped my gallery clean of some photos, unfortunately I've cleared out the cosplay shots too. I just felt that the gallery was getting confusing and it was not a cohesive body of work.
So if you want to view the old cosplay shots they could be found here:
